Virtual Reality for People with Dementia
by Sandra Hastings
A Virtual Reality application that displays scenes that would be familiar and comforting for people living with dementia.
Recent trials have shown the impact of Virtual Reality when shown to older people living with Dementia. The results were outstanding. However the technology for traditional VR is expensive and therefore prohibitive to care and activity providers. This app would allow anyone with a smart phone and a VR headset (available from under £20) to access images and scenes which could stimulate memory as well as providing comfort and reassurance to people with dementia or any memory loss.

sound like a great idea please support this image if you had a family member with this horrible illness. you could use your phone to add pictures and videos to show them things that mean so much to you and them stimulating lost memories... great idea :)

A good idea, but the person using it would need a lot of support.
