I’d really like an app that lets me find out which shops (restaurants and pubs too) I can take my dog Maya into. Living in a beautiful city like York there is nothing I like to do more that stroll around the town centre, but browsing in the shops mean leaving my husband outside (with Maya) which rather ruins the experience both for him and me. Over the years I’ve found that some of the most unlikely places (like little tea shops and even Barnitts) not only allow you to bring your dog in but welcome them (by providing a water bowl and the like). In other shops the staff have told me that dogs are not allowed because of “health and safety” laws (which is a complete fiction). There are other places too, museums, galleries, etc ...in fact I'd love to know if a dog friendly cinema exists (that really would be great!). Googling dog ownership in the UK reveals that 31% households owning at least one dog so that’s potentially lot of business they are missing out on. Anyway, if you are a dog owner or just a dog lover I hope you support this movement, share it with friend and fellow dog lovers too!
